New Found Footage Anthology THE DARK TAPES Scores Awards at Film Festivals

Spread the love

The Dark Tapes (2016) - Found Footage Films Poster (Found Footage Horror)THE DARK TAPES, a new found footage horror anthology by director Michael McQuown is taking the horror community by storm. It’s a proverbial bloodbath as The Dark Tapes is cleaning up at horror film festivals across the country and abroad.

The film has already earned more awards than any found footage horror film since the 2010 fan-favorite horror/comedy TrollHunter from Norway. But look out TrollHunter, with over ten more film festivals to go before year’s end, The Dark Tapes has it’s eye (or in this case lens) set on the prize.

The found footage horror community has not come across an anthology of this caliber since the popular V/H/S trilogy. Earlier this year, Found Footage Critic had the privilege of reviewing an early production screener of The Dark Tapes. To say that we were impressed does not do the film justice. We dare say that The Dark Tapes ranks among the top found footage films ever made.

    • The film is still on the festival circuit and won’t be released until sometime later this year or perhaps early next year (based on what I’m hearing).
