The plot of this film is that a man has won a house from a police auction and plans to flip it for a big profit, but the house turns out to be haunted.
The Bad Ben series as a whole revolves around Jersey Devil lore, though the first film doesn’t go too much into that, for fans of movies involving “real” cryptids like myself, this is information that would draw me into the film.
The film does pretty good on jump scares. There’s not so many that you’re on the edge of your seat, but there’s enough to keep you interested. The story is pretty interesting as well, though maybe less so to those who don’t care that it has something to do with the Jersey Devil. The effects are a little lower quality, so that should be considered if it has any effect on how you feel about the films; this isn’t a big name like paranormal activity and thus didn’t have the budget that PA did.
The filming style, similar to paranormal activity, is mostly through security cameras; although parts are from a cell phone perspective as well. When it comes to this type of film (security cameras/paranormal theme) I consider Bad Ben to be one of the better ones and is worth a watch!
